Stuart Venzke has over 30 years of experience improving the effectiveness, efficiency and responsiveness of health and human services (HHS) programs. As managing director of Information Technology (IT) Advisory Services at HMA, Stuart continues to work with HHS agencies and others to apply technology to improve client and patient outcomes, lower costs, and improve the user experience.

Prior to joining HMA, Stuart led the US state and local human services and labor portfolio at Amazon Web Services (AWS). In this role, he led AWS’ business development and go-to-market team focused on human services and labor programs, including eligibility programs, child welfare, child support enforcement, unemployment insurance, and workforce services. He worked with clients and partners to bring the power of cloud computing to strengthen the reliability and stability of existing applications while applying advanced cloud services to streamline processes and improve the user experience.

At IBM, Stuart led IBM Consulting’s state and local HHS business nationally. He worked with HHS agencies to apply innovative technology to reduce costs and improve business outcomes,
As Chief Operating Officer at Montgomery County Department of Health & Human Services, Stuart was responsible for operations and strategic guidance for an integrated agency that served more than one million residents. He implemented a transformational process and technology modernization program including electronic health records, an integrated case management system, creation of a platform for improved business analytics, and development of organizational change management. He used data-driven analysis to restructure programming and operations and reallocated resources to drive better client outcomes at lower costs.

Stuart earned a Master of Public Management and a Bachelor of Arts in government and economics from the University of Maryland, College Park.
