A skilled strategy and transformation consultant, Mara Kilgore works with clients across the healthcare sector to develop strategic plans and implement improvement initiatives. Her experience spans payers and providers, specializing in Medicaid growth strategy and population health. 

Before joining Health Management Associates, Mara was the engagement manager for a boutique healthcare management consulting firm based in Columbus, Ohio. Managing engagements ranging from go-to-market design to organizational transformation, Mara developed project scopes, led project work, and deployed teams to execute deliverables.  

Mara has a background in claims analytics, data visualization, and marketing. She has worked in several consulting roles, utilizing data-driven insights to assist clients with projects ranging from reducing costs and minimizing uncertainty in risk-based contracting to improving efficiency and care outcomes. She has led claims data analytics, developed dashboards and designed user-centric, practical reports synthesizing the analyses for use in strategic planning. She is proficient in data visualization software like Tableau and is experienced in not-for-profit development, print media, and marketing.  

Mara earned her bachelor’s degree in mathematics, classical studies and narrative journalism from Denison University.
