Jen VanWoerkom provides technical support and coordinates activities for HMA’s data management tools and resources. Overseeing the compilation and organization of work products and data, Jen develops and manages workflows and enhances processes across the firm.

Jen joined HMA from Wolverine Gas and Oil Corporation where she served as production analyst for over 10 years. In this role, Jen monitored, reviewed and scrubbed production data provided by various software programs and field operators. She calculated and prepared monthly production and sales reports from each producing facility and invoiced refineries accordingly. Jen managed the planning, preparation and provision of data for various audits. She was a lead member and power user of Wolverine’s enterprise software, Enertia, and was highly involved with all upgrades, troubleshooting and training.

Key accomplishments with Wolverine include planning, developing and implementing a supervisory and data acquisition system to monitor, gather and process facility data – including the transfer of data to the corporate office’s accounting software. Additionally, she led the implementation of imaging all accounting and land department documents into Enertia, and collaborated in planning, developing and implementing a company SharePoint site used by employees, consultants, partners and investors. She worked closely with an outside IT firm to have the site built, and continuously managed, developed and implemented enhancements as needed.

Jen was a lead member of the marketing team where she conducted market research and analysis on crude oil marketing, pricing and transportation. She served on several other teams including the producing asset team (PAT). On a quarterly basis, she reviewed financial statements for Wolverine’s producing assets and decided on the go-forward plan for each asset. Throughout her time at Wolverine, she also held various accounting positions including roles in accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Jen earned her MBA from Western Michigan University. She received her bachelor’s degree in finance and business economics from Grand Valley State University.

Jen and her husband spend most of their time chasing around their two very active sons, including one who was born on Leap Day!
