Devon Schechinger is a leader with extensive experience driving impactful change in behavioral health, public policy, and state and local government. Known for her collaborative approach and strategic acumen, Devon excels in leveraging intelligence to shape organizational development and advance public health initiatives.
As a senior consultant at HMA, Devon applies her expertise in research and analysis, advocacy, strategic planning, community needs assessments, leadership development, and capacity building to guide high-level client decision-making. She orchestrates complex stakeholder engagements to deliver actionable insights and drive tactical outcomes.
Prior to her role at HMA, Devon served as a legislative and policy analyst for California State Senator Bob Hertzberg, where she led the development of key policy initiatives. She conducted both qualitative and quantitative research, crafted policy reports, and executed high-profile constituent meetings. Her role in co-authoring critical reports, briefs, and technical assistance documents underscored her capability to lead complex projects and deliver strategic recommendations to influence policy and drive legislative change.
In the nonprofit sector, Devon’s leadership extended to program management and community engagement. She effectively collaborated with stakeholders to design and implement impactful programs for underserved populations, training hundreds of volunteers and facilitating leadership development for at-risk youth. Her strategic vision and dedication to community empowerment have driven measurable improvements in educational outcomes and youth development.
Devon holds a master’s degree in public policy from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
