Claire Hick is a seasoned healthcare executive with more than 15 years of experience in strategic healthcare management, including growing behavioral health hospitals, medical/surgical hospitals, and physician practices. With a proven history of achieving growth and operational excellence at the C-suite level, she is committed to empowering team members and partners to deliver exceptional care to the patients and communities they serve.

Claire specializes in key performance indicator (KPI) growth, organizational expense opportunities, business and service line development, managed care reimbursements, and revenue cycle management. She has demonstrated success overseeing directed payment actuarial reviews; mergers and acquisitions, including joint ventures, de novos, and hospital expansions; clinical behavioral health surveys, community needs assessments, workforce development initiatives and clinic operational reviews.

Before joining HMA, Claire held a number of leadership roles within large hospital systems. As market chief executive officer at the largest pure-play behavioral health company in the country, her hospitals consistently exceeded financial and clinical metrics, achieved high patient satisfaction scores, and showed substantial year-over-year growth. She spearheaded expansions in service lines, bed counts, and outpatient services, including developing substance used disorder (SUD) and medication-assisted treatment (MAT) services to reduce overdose deaths. Prior to being a hospital CEO, Claire also held leadership roles in the behavioral health and medical/surgical hospital sectors at the hospital and corporate level.

Claire has a Master of Healthcare Administration and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Mississippi. She is currently writing her dissertation to finish her doctorate in organizational leadership to support her teaching efforts at the University of Mississippi helping shape future leaders in business.

Claire is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and has certifications in Infection Control from Harvard University, Kata from the TWI Institute, and A3. She is also an active member of various healthcare organizations, including serving as a board member for the Louisiana Chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and a regional director and state board director for the American College of Healthcare Executives of Louisiana.
