Bringing a wide range of experience across the healthcare sector, Arianna Baseman specializes in strategic planning and business development, including operational feasibility assessments, program development and implementation, and health equity considerations. She has extensive experience working with Medicaid managed care organizations and serving minority and vulnerable populations.

Before joining Health Management Associates, Arianna held several roles with Humana, most recently serving as a business development strategy advancement advisor. Leveraging her market-level knowledge, Arianna advised on company-wide strategic growth plans, request for proposals responses and operational efficacy of the company’s programs and vended solutions. She developed relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to maintain strategic dialogues, including subject matter experts, proposal writers, business development leaders, partners and community-based organizations (CBOs).

Arianna provides data-informed insights to identify opportunities for improvement and drive innovative solutions, identifying vulnerable sub-populations and closing gaps in care. In addition to her strategic advancement and market development roles, she has served in a number of public health, health equity and community engagement positions focusing on healthcare access. With Humana, she was the culture and community engagement manager, establishing partnerships with CBOs serving Medicaid-eligible populations, especially those focusing on social determinants of health (SDOHs). With Aetna, she served as a population health specialist and the healthcare equity director, facilitating cross-functional healthcare equity strategies and contributing to the Medicaid Innovations team’s practice transformation efforts.

Early career experiences also inform her approach to healthcare services and business development. She has worked with Jewish Family Services, connecting families to medical and mental health services, and served as a Peace Corps volunteer, focusing on sexual and reproductive health, and HIV/AIDS education. Her public policy experience includes having worked in a California representative’s congressional office on legislative issues related to reproductive and sexual health, women’s issues and healthcare.

Arianna earned her Master of Public Health from the Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. She has a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Florida.

In her free time, Arianna and her partner, Chris, work on renovating their historic home built in 1886. She enjoys spending time with family, friends and their pup Nela, as well as traveling, hiking and going on adventures.
