Amanda Ternan is a certified project management professional with more than 25 years of experience managing projects in behavioral health, state health care services, criminal justice and human services systems, and telecommunications. She has led stakeholder engagement activities, work plan development, and strategic planning to improve and sustain contracts and pursue growth opportunities. She is also a member of HMA’s project management workgroup.
Amanda serves as the contract and project manager for many state health care service delivery programs that span 3 – 5 years and include multiple stakeholder groups. In these roles, she ensures work allocations and assignments remain within scope, schedule, and budget. She manages project timelines, costs, risks and nurtures relationships with project stakeholders, vendors, and subcontractors.
Prior to joining HMA, Amanda served as project manager for adult services at a large public behavioral health agency in San Antonio, Texas assisting with the implementation of innovative clinical programs for primary care in behavioral health settings and Texas Medicaid 1115 Waiver Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment projects. She also worked for AT&T (formerly SBC IT Services) as the quality assurance manager and director of IT project management.
Amanda earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration/management information systems from Texas A&M University and a project management professional certification from the Project Management Institute.
